[s-cars] possible ignition switch failure

Wanted to confirm my suspicions.  Lately I've had trouble getting the 
car to fire up.  If I turn the key, starter engages, hvac turns on, 
radio works, but the engine never starts (even though engine is turning 
over like normal when I engage starter).  I finally  figured out how to 
tell right off the bat if the car would fire or not.  When I first turn 
the key into the "on" position before engaging the starter, none of the 
lights on the dash would light up, and I would get no "OK" symbol.  
Turning the ignition into off and then on several times without engaging 
the starter, I would eventually get the lights on the dash and the "OK" 
symbol, then if I engaged the starter, the car would fire immediately, 
and I've never had any problems once the car fires up.  The problem 
started last week, and has become progressively worse to where I can sit 
for  thirty minutes turning the key off and on until the dash will 
finally light up.  Is this the ignition switch, or possibly some other 
faulty connection?  I will check for codes tomorrow.
