I had this happen to me with my KW engine. Problem turned out to be the temp sender sensor on the rear of the cylinder head. It sends temp readings to the ECU to lean the mixture as it warms up. By failing in safe mode, it keeps the mixture rich enough to protect from turbo induced knock. How's your fuel consumption? Colin
