[s-cars] Could it be the GP RS2 turbos are "over" spec?

I am starting to wonder whether the recent new batch of RS2 turbos from
the TJM Motorsport GP (no reflection on them) are, in fact, putting out
more pressure and/or flow than the originals.  I say this because I was
seeing 28 psi on peak boost and was getting pinging until I turned my
VMAP down to 2.8 Bar.  Now I "only" see 24 psi and get but a little
pinging. I am going to be checking my fuel supply system but I am
wondering if these new turbos are actually over spec with respect to
flow and pressure.  Any others with the same thoughts?
