[s-cars] submerging the 044 motorsport pump

The "044" Bosch motorsport pump (60mm) may be submerged if you use the
appropriate cap nut (M12x1.25) on the supplied check valve. I personally am
running this pump, submerged, with exceptional results.
The 044 pump will not fit in the OE fuel cradle ("reservoir"). The factory
cradle is designed for a 43mm pump. You can modify your existing fuel
cradle ("reservoir") but cutting the hell out of it, or IIRC, you can use a
60mm cradle from a 90 CQ to accommodate the larger 044 pump.

Subject: Re: [s-cars] RS2-related fuel pump questions
Hap: With "normal" RS2 turbo set up, did you ever run out fuel with
the standard 8A0 906 091 G in-tank, high pressure/flow fuel pump? The
reason I am asking is this pump is the same for the S4/S6 AND the 2.8
172 hp V6 of the day. It is easy for me to imagine that the fuel
requirements of a 227 hp S4 (or a 172 hp V6) are easily exceeded by a
"pushed" 370 hp (crank) RS2 set-up at WOT at sea level (oh, thats me!!).

This is not a submersible pump for the fuel tank. This is a high flow Bosch
Motorsport racing application that is made to mount externally. This is the
pump I use and I have posted pics previously. Here's a link to a pic.
