Ray: Thanks very much. The S2 boys seemed to imply it could be done
submerged. I would much rather do that than go Hap's route in the
engine bay (I suspect Hap would too if he had known this). If I get a 60
mm 90 CQ cradle (reservoir) and the check valve cap nut, are there any
other issues, e.g. fuel gauge float, etc.??
Also, why did you go this route? Did you have similar real (or
perceived) fuel delivery problems? Do you know which Porsche pump this
crosses over to?? Thanks in advance. Dave F.

The "044" Bosch motorsport pump (60mm) may be submerged if you use the
appropriate cap nut (M12x1.25) on the supplied check valve. I
personally am
running this pump, submerged, with exceptional results.
The 044 pump will not fit in the OE fuel cradle ("reservoir"). The
factory
cradle is designed for a 43mm pump. You can modify your existing fuel
cradle ("reservoir") but cutting the hell out of it, or IIRC, you can
use a
60mm cradle from a 90 CQ to accommodate the larger 044 pump.
