I went golfing last weekend and had a water bottle sitting on the seat. It
was a nice sunny day with little cloud cover and temperatures in the 80s.
My wife noticed this morning some discoloration and drying on the leather.
(it looks a bit shrunken, but no cracking)

Related? yup...

I speculate that the sun beat down through the windows, through the water
bottle (w/ some water inside). The water bottle acted as a lens and focused
some heat into the seat.

I've put some Lexol on the area. It's slightly more pliable but far from
corrected.

Any other ideas?
