To me, turbo chatter is a "STiKa STika stika" sound at the top of the 
shifts when the throttle body closes.    It decreases in volume.    Its 
identical to what the Audi rally cars of the 80s used to make between 
shifts under acceleration (They didn't run BPV or BOV).     What is 
actually happening is a supersonic burst of air escaping backwards past the 
turbo impeller as the impeller stalls against the built up air pressure in 
the intact tract.   Its muffled by the airfilter and an airbox.
