of a lightweight flywheel on the trans. Pretty common on race cars.
This destroying due to cooling rates delta's? That is a new one for me,
how did you figure out that was the case?
I know of an early JB flywheels that was sold thru ASW and not properly
matted to a pressure plate/clutch disk that had premature wear issues.
The good news is that JB took care of the one that I know of.

"serviceable" steel insert? I've seen cars with RS2 horsepower wreck a
lightweight flywheel because the steel insert cools at a different rate
than
the aluminum flywheel. It ain't pretty.
