[s-cars] Starter interchanges?

I think that almost any Audi/VW 5 cylinder engine starter will fit (4000Q,
5000, 100, 2000, 90, etc.) but the V6 starter will not.  BTDT when my S4
starter died and I had a low mileage 93 90 starter on the bench.

  Anybody out there know if a Starter out of a '96 A6 with the V6 engine
will fit a S6 AAN motor?  Thanks, MGH
