[s-cars] S6+ springs - any experiences?

I have the Eibach from Shox.com on my 95 S6 which lowered the car about 1-1/2
inches w/o spacers. The ride, with stock shocks, is excellent. I think
better than with stock springs. I originally installed Bilstien shocks/struts but
they were very harsh. The car rode as if it had 75 psi in the tires so I
reinstalled the stock shocks/struts.
After lowering, the camber was out of spec even with slotted top mounts. I
was watching the tires for wear but was not looking in the correct place. As a
result, I shredded the inside shoulders of two SP 9000 down to the belts in
8,000 miles. I have 18 inch Avus wheels with 235-40x 18 tires and the wider tire
may have been more vulnerable.
I got the 2 Bennet Camber plates (group purchase - thank you very much) and 4
new 9000s ($O,uch). It is too early to evaluate wear but I sure hope that is
solved.
My thoughts: The ride, looks and handling with the Eibachs is great, but if
you're gonna lower an Audi, ya gotta get camber plates!
E.
