[s-cars] best exhaust system setup?

Is bigger simply better? Do turbo cars want zero backpressure, or is it
still possible to go too big? Why the insane arrangement of pipes under the
urS4? If one were to make it "better", would the idea be to start with a
much bigger downpipe and then go into a monster single tube (with say one HP
cat and one muffler) back to the back?

I ask these questions because obviously I'm sort of interested in a system
for my S4, but I don't have $1400. I do however live in NC, where we put
flowmastahs on everything. I'm gonna try to come up with something locally -
there might be a guy with a name like bubba or junior helping me with it.

It's a shame really, because my stock exhaust is just fine - damn thing
won't rust fast enough!
