Well that's good to know since he's doing the belts, pump, tensioner job
for me. He said he would not be replacing it. I'll tell him what my
buddies on the S-car list had to say and have him replace it.
Thanks,
Kevin - startin to believe the old man is not always right.

When I changed my belts a couple months ago I compared
the old tensioner to the new one. The old one had
about half the strength in the spring as the new one.
I was convinced.
A good friend's engine was wrecked by a tensioner
failure. New pistons, new head and you better believe
a new tensioner after that.
