Sean.
On my aircraft engines Ive had problems from time to
time with the octane quality, upon testing we found
the octane was not up to snuff to alleviate the
problem i had the mechs gradually ad octane booster.
until the problem went away. Consider the source of
the fuel as well the lube properties they may be
misleading
