Your first step before anything is to go to the dealer and get an
estimate. If there are any special repair procedures for the aluminum
the dealer whould be trained for it.


After you get your estimate contact your insurance carrier, in a case
such as this they may in fact waive the deductible. Because this was
not an at fault incident you won't have a premium increase. The one
thing to check is if you will lose your safe driver discount, this is
given if you go 5+ years without a claim (usually an at fault claim).


I am willing to bet this repair will be higher than you expect.
