[s-cars] Sticky thermostat - part 2

What gives with these thermostats? I just put a new one (worldpac sourced)
and it's as flaky as the old one was, after only two weeks. (hanging open)

If I were to buy one from the stealer, would I get anything
different/better?

I guess the plus side to this is that evidently the cooling system has
plenty of potency. If the thermostat is hung open the thing stays dead cold.
