Another data point for you all.

I replaced the clutch on my car at 170k with a spec Stage II.  It cost me
$600 for the parts and $540 for the install.  I replaced the rear main seal,
pilot bearing, throwout bearing and did not resurface the flywheel as it was
in good condition.  I think the Sach's clutch is a few hundred dollars less
than the SPEC.  The SPEC was a bit grabby at first but is smooth and awesome
now.  I have abot 18k on the new clutch.  My wife's S4 has 192k (mostly
highway) and is still in the original.  The pedal is getting heavy and
probably is time for a new one.  I think I will do it at 200K
