I replaced the clutch on my car at 170k with a spec Stage II. It cost me
$600 for the parts and $540 for the install. I replaced the rear main seal,
pilot bearing, throwout bearing and did not resurface the flywheel as it was
in good condition. I think the Sach's clutch is a few hundred dollars less
than the SPEC. The SPEC was a bit grabby at first but is smooth and awesome
now. I have abot 18k on the new clutch.

In the YMcan&willV column...

When I finally had all my parts accumulated and knew the tranny / clutch
were coming out, I vowed to not want to see one IOTA of clutch material left
on my OE clutch upon removal. Subsequently did 4k launches, sidesteps,
clutchrides, etc. for easily a month. Took the sucker out, I'll be damned
if it wasn't the slightest bit blue and had a ton of meat left on it at
117k. I was pissed (issues). In fact, what nominal slipping I was
previously getting was eliminated after this abuse.

Amazing.

Oh, and agree with Jack, my SPEC stage 2.5 (1/2 carbon 1/2 kevlar) was first
VERY chattery, then rather grabby, now feels like OE butter and loving it.
'Only' took 10-15k of break in 8-).

Off to Indy with Rossato, Platt & Co., gotta run!
