FWIW, my '83, purchased in '85, has been far and  away the most dependable car I've ever owned.  The '95 S6 avant has been pretty good, but doesn't come close.

Of coures, with the age of the thing now, I'm getting hesitant to push it.  I need to get a new timing belt on it before the move to Houston.
