[s-cars] Inlet air temp sensor

I got confused because the sensor is called the Inlet Air Temperature
sensor and some 5k guys were talking about knocking the IAT sensor wires
loose while adjusting the intercooler.

No your motor doesn't care what the temperature is at the intercooler
inlet.
The ECU needs to know the temp immediately prior to pushing the charged
air
into the cylinder. I believe the intake air temp sensor is in the
intake
manifold, after the throttle body. The section in the Bentley is at J
28-19 to 2x. It's item #26 in Bentley's illustration 24-743. The
sensor
is located on the intake manifold, immediate "behind" the Throttle body.
