[s-cars] 1993 S4 ignition problem.

I had a similar problem a while back and seem to now have it fixed.
First you must determine what cylinder is misfiring. If the car is
misfiring during idle, this is very easy. Do this by removing the
injector connectors one at a time while the car is idling. You will
hear a speed change as you do this on all cylinders except the one that
is misfiring. Once you have located the cylinder, switch the POS units
and note if the misfire now has changed cylinders. If not, its likely to
be a problem with the spark plug boot or the coil pack for that
cylinder. I changed the #2 plug and plug boot, but this did not fix the
problem. Finally, I changed the #2 coil pack including the wires all
the way back to the connector. This is important, since the insulation
on these wires will sometimes crack and cause arcing to ground,
intermittently. This fixed the problem for my situation and it has not
misfired for months.

Good luck,
