[s-cars] Introduction

Hey all-

I'm new to the S-car list, and admittedly don't have a real S-car yet.
I'm subscribed to the 'quattro' and '200 20v' lists though. Currently my
two audis are an 87 5kcstq and a 91 200 20v (kind of an S-car, but not
quite).

I'm selling my 5k now, and planning to sell my 200 20v in the future
(not posting this as an ad though) with the intention of getting an
S-car. I'm looking at the 92+ S4 and the S6. But I have several
questions that list members may know answers to.

Was the avant made all the years? Any rough idea how many were produced?
Do they cost a premium over the regular S4/S6's?

I've seen differing specs on weight distribution for the S4. One site
says it's 51/49, while another claims nearly 60/40. Any idea what the
actual is for the sedan and avant?

I've also heard that only the 92 model S4 had a rear sway bar, and only
the 92-93 S4's had all metal intercoolers. Are there particular years
that are better than others for the S4/S6?

I'm familiar with the Type 44 chassis and its quarks. Are there
particular bugs the S4/S6's are prone to? I got my 200 20v pretty cheap,
but have had to repair about 100 small problems to make it 'fully
functional." Just wondering what to plan on with the S-cars.

And just to check...if I get an RS2 exhaust manifold and turbo for my 91
200 20v, these should bolt on to the S4/S6 as well right? Since my car
also has S4 G60 brakes, my Bira upgrade should swap on as well I think.

Thanks for any information you can share. I love the drivetrain in my
200 20v, but I'm hoping to find a car (avant if possible) that will be
better suited for my needs :o) I look forward to participation on the
list with you all-
