Others have responded to most of your questions so I won't repeat.  I have a
95.5 S6 Avant that is partway down the slippery slope (Samco's, RS2 exhaust
manifold, BIRA Sys 3 brakes, MTM 1+ chip, metal cross-over tube).

If you are looking for an S-car, one good place to check out is KAR.  This
operation is run by one of the Minnesota Anderson brothers who deals almost
exclusively in Audi's.  He usually has several urS models to choose from.
