Robin pondered
"I am in the process of putting in a new clutch.
My problem is that I cannot separate the prop-shaft from the
transmission? The bolts were tough but they are out at the front of the

shaft. So, do I need to take the whole prop-shaft out? Has anyone else

had this problem with the shaft being stuck? And does anyone have any
suggestions?"

Robin,
If you would change your clutch more often it would keep all the bolts
and flanges from rusting and working freely and this thing wouldn't get
stuck;)
IIRC the flange that attaches the drive shaft to the trans. will stay
stuck on the trans. even though it's unbolted. I had this dilemma where
the drive shaft was stuck on the rear differential flange. Solution you
ask?
Grab a short piece of 2 x 4 (hardwood preferred) and with a 5 lb hammer
(or choke up on a sledge hammer) pound away using the wood as a chisel
on the little lip around the flange. It will come off.
