[s-cars] RS2-related Fuel Pump Question

I may be having a fuel supply-related pinging issue with my new RS2 set up.  The fuel pump was replaced in Feb. 2003 (at a stealership because the pump died when I was 120 km and a ferry trip from my mechanic).  I did not see the pump they put in.  It was supposed to be the "S4" pump (special order - four days delivery, etc.) but I am wondering whether I got the right pump.  Are there any other (lower flow/pressure) pumps that they could have installed by "mistake"?

I am going to change the fuel filter and see if that is a restriction.  If that doesn't work, I guess I will have the fuel pressure tested at the fuel rail (should be 4 bar over manifold pressure - I am told).  The FPR is the original and I will check boost/vacuum lines to it.  I may replace the FPR to eliminate it as a potential source of the problem.  If none of these work, then I am going to replace the fuel pump.
