igor, you're quoting out of context.  the rest of that sentence was
"...in terms of exterior design."

look at the oddly styled, overdone cars BMW has been turning out lately.
as for mercedes, i personally like their styling lately, but there are
a lot of people who say the S-class was their only good idea, and the
C- and E- are just boring redos of the S-class design.  the C-coupe is
a little funky.

not everyone might agree with the author, but he's got a decent case
for saying audi styling has been better than BMW and mercedes recently.
