AAh come on James use keenserts or timeserts, a helicoil? Hmm let's see
100ksi is what raceware spec's there torque at, same basic material I am
assuming the same basic stress.

So like ouch 12k per bolt, ok, at temp with 356 aluminum, let's guess at
20ksi it is the lower number for shear strength, at 200f I am thinking
even if it is stronger to start it will probably be down there by then.

I have a sheet of pull strength of an insert with a given parent
material, i.e. your block from Fairchild fasteners, the makers of
keenserts. You could get close to 12k in 20k material with a KNH, a
basic keensert, you are just about there, and with a KNHXH, larger
diameter, you are maybe just a bit over.

on an alloy block with steel helicoil inserts? Studs should reduce the
risk of stripping out or damaging the block. Will the use of studs
allow
me to torque to UrS4 specs?
I'm just being very cautious.

James
