[s-cars] Chip install

Tom,
I have taken apart 3 AAN boxes in the last 2 weeks. I use 3 screwdrivers.
1. The PCB's are folded over like a close book. Look at the end with the 3
rows of contacts. The top row (or bottom) is seperate from the other 2. The
top row has a plastic clasp at each end. Look closely and you will see them.
2. Insert 1 small screwdrive at each end to get the clasps to release.
3. I then use the 3rd screwdriver to pry the top row down while lifting and
pulling the other end of the pcb. The contact will pop out.
This is one of those jobs for people with 3 hands.
HTH,
Rich

Thanks, but that's only half the battle. I got it out and I got the cover
off, I just can't separate the boards.

Listers,
I know this has been covered, but I can't seem to locate anything in the
archives. Is there a write-up somewhere on disassembling the ECU to
install
chips. I can't quite figure out the "secret handshake" to get the two
boards to open up.
TIA
Tom
