Well, if the light were truly infrared, then you couldn't see it. Or if
there were enough power to cause a visual reaction, it could include a
risk of eye damage. I believe the key operates at the edge of the red
vision sensitivity range near the common AlGaAs diode wavelengh of 805
nm.
