Hap,

I installed a set of ECS floating rotors on my daughter's A4. They don't make 
any noise. Their full floaters just allow for some radial expansion of the 
disc. My motorcycles have full floaters. They move side to side to center in the 
caliper, and also allow for radial expansion. They make a lot of noise.  I 
would call the ECS rotors semi-floating.
