A 93 S4?  I just replaced my key batteries last month for my 93 S4. When/if
you mail-order them, don't accept the ones made in China, they either arrive
half dead or soon discharge.

IR keys don't emit a visible light, they just get tired after 10 years of
usage, become unreliable, require that you flash the sensor from closer and
closer range.

The procedure is in your owners manual: Open door, hold one of the seat
memory buttons (let memory finished positioning seat/mirrors), hold key
button, release in reverse order.

I hope I got that right.
