Kevin,

I have always been a skeptic of fix-all "snake" oils. The shelves at the monkey shops are full of them, but I have used one that really works.

Rislone always quieted my 4000Q lifters. They even quieted the HLA's (Hydraulic Lash Adjuster (POS)) on my wifes ex Mazda MPV, which were so bad they were the subject of a recall replacement. A half a quart when the tick became apparent shut them up until the next oil change. I have recommended this to other 10V Q friends, with similar results. I cant imagine the 20V's are much different, just twice as many to get noisy!

Rislone comes in two types:

A concentrate

and an Oil Replacement (Replaces one quart at change)

For firsts - I would run some concentrate for 500 miles then change the oil.

All Rislone is is a very strong detergent package. Not for track use.
