I have considered just plugging the hole on the crankcase, plugging the hole
on the intake hose and then trying to figure out a way to just loosen the
oil fill cap without having oil blow all over the place.  Might this not
work?  

Or; like my tax strategies, just another great, but illegal idea?

Go for it Baloney...  why not?  Whatwith your proposition being a scarily
similar setup to thatofwhich resides on my 1958 TR3 (perforated oil cap /
breather tube off side of block to also coat framerails w/ oil).  Just
think, you'll kill 2 birds w/ that stone...  vent to atmosphere AND prevent
underhood rust with all that oil, just like the Brits...
