I've been chasing this same problem for about 2 years. I have done the
usual switching of the pos, replacing the boot for the #2 cylinder, and
replacing the plug for that cylinder with a used plug. The misfire
comes and goes but is always on #2 cylinder. The plugs now have 26K on
them, so I will try replacing them all soon. This seemed to fix the
problem the last time that I changed plugs. The only thing that I
haven't done is replace the coilpack. Some have told me that it is
caused by the change over to Summer fuel, but not sure I believe that.
Keep me informed. By the way, you do not have to remove the fuel rail
cover to check for misfire. You can remove the injector connectors with
the cover on.
