Any remote will work to unlock the car, however unless you buy a blank
key from the dealer ($$$) the physical key part will not work. You
could luck out and buy a used key that is thicker than yours and it can
be cut down to match your key (not likely), or you can take the used
remote apart dremel out the old key and epoxy in a new one. Another
option (my preferred option) is to buy an aftermarket RF receiver
install it and put the guts from the remotes than come with it in to a
used switchblade key off ebay. You can get an RF receiver that will
hook right up for around $40. There is a procedure on the 100 forum of
audiworld describing it. My actual route was to replace all the locks
in the car to match they key I picked up. I got them out of a wrecked
100 for $30.

Subject: [s-cars] Remote function key
It's possible I misplaced (lost) my remote function key, 94 S-4. Is it
replaceable? What kind of a hassle will I expect trying to accomplish
this?
Anybody been there recently?
Thanks,
Rich
