I bought my 95 S6 6 months ago in Ann Arbor and the previous owner had it maintained by the dealer, but he also used SELECT AUTO, I had spoken with them and they are familiar with these engines, I feel that you could trust them, and I am guessing that they will be cheaper than Howard Cooper, but they are still pricey.  If you can drive the car up to traverse city, there is an awesome shop, great prices, seen many S's, it's called World Wide Auto.
 
do you know Jim Perry, thats who I bought my car from, black 95 S6, ever seen it?
