This is one of the quotes from SJM site
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/20vtime.html :
"This pin is located on the flywheel to give the ECU
a reference point that is 62 Degrees Before Top Dead
Center (BTDC) for Cylinder #1."
I would interpret this to mean that the reference sender
triggers at 62 cramkshaft degrees before TDC on cyl #1.
So your second statement should be correct, assuming
that the window for the -0- mark is located about 30 degrees
from the sensor position.
