If the problem comes back when it's cold, suspect one or both of the vacuum
release valves on the brake and clutch pedals.  One of mine was leaking, but
it was temperature-sensitive.  Worked when warm, failed when cold.  The
Bentley says it's a throw-away assembly, but it is easily opened and
replacing the o-ring solved the problem.
