[s-cars] CD Player Install Help

I am trying to install an aftermarket CD player (JVC) into my car.  It took me quite some time, but I actually have it hooked up now where the CD player turns on and seems to work fine.  However, every time I turn the CD player on or off, the factory amp gets a power surge of some kind and makes the speakers pop.  I have already tried to connect the factory amp through the receiever power wire instead of the remote turn on lead to no avail.  Currently, I have the reciever hooked up through RCA outs; I was wondering if I should have it hooked up like this or with the speaker outs.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
