shows how to wire in a mini-stereo plug into the line-in on a Delta  
radio.

If I am understanding you correctly, this is what you need.  Build this  
circuit and you can use any line-in (just use two RCA jacks rather than  
the mini-plug) to the stereo.  Of course, controlling your CD changer   
from the Delta won't work, but, the line-in should work...
