Same thing happenned to me a over a year ago. There is
no clutch cable on these cars. It is hydraulic line
from the clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder. The
rod from the clutch pedal to the clutch master
cylinder is most likely broken.
Here was my ultimate cheapo fix that is still working
fine after over 30k miles, against some
recommendations I might add. Sure beat spending $150
for a new clutch cylinder.
Remove cylinder from car by laying under dash and
trying to get comfy. You will need a catch can
underneath line from master cylinder to clutch
cylinder when you disconnect it.
Disconnect cylinder rod from clutch pedal and get
whole assy out.
There are two adjustment bolts on the rod. Mine broke
in between them. I had the two broken bolts welded
together, whic essentially repairs the broken rod. Put
assy back in and bled the lines..Presto. Cost me a six
pack of beer for the weld job..$5.00.
Good Luck
Mike( runnin wild welded and with new clutch 30k ago)P
Has anyone had a clutch cable failure? Is this a
possibility? My
clutch
pedal just gave way and stuck to the floor. I have
had no prior issues
with
slipping or mushy pedal feel.
Any and all insight greatly appreciated.
