Tire Rack offers Eibach springs for a 1994 S4, which I assume would fit all
C4 S cars. Are these springs less than optimal for these cars and are they
different than what used to be available from Eibach? Anybody know?
You're opening a major can of worms WRT what Eibach currently offers for the
S4. I will tell you this: I've bought 2 sets in the last year. You will
hear lots of stories about how they are different than the original set...
stories of spacers for the rear... and lots more details to boot.
However, I called Eibach directly, and spoke with a tech. I won't get into a
debate as to if he was full of "it" or not, but he claims that it is the same
spec as the original, but manufactured here as opposed to Germany. They may
look physically different, but the rates are the same.
Bottom line, what I got off the shelf from shox.com is, IMHO, a wonderful set
of springs. Not too low, and an excellent compromise of ride vs. handling.
No spacers, no funny stuff, just a straightforward install.
Good luck, and enjoy the onslaught of confusing/controversial comments that
will be coming your way WRT Eibach springs! :)
