All are like this - The K24 turbo just makes life a little snappier. The
reason it tailors off above 5000 rpm is that it is programmed that way - if you
looked at the compressor maps of a K24 you would see that to prevent it from
overspinning 120K+ rpm it needs to be in this region.
Even if you ran the MTM software K24 with an RS2 turbo it is a lot smoother
... but laggier as well ... yes it will run fine if you have the stock
injectors and MAF. Of course it tapers off as well above 5000 rpm (due to programming)
... and this is really where the RS2 turbo can shine.
Although I like the RS2 turbo ... I also enjoy some of the benefits of the
smaller K24 around town - I think it is time to really focus on a sequential
turbo application ... or drop in a stroker.
