Bill-
The euro-spec Audi UrS has much better brakes- the 323x30 Lucas/Girling HP-2
2-piston calipers in the front. Why these never made it to the US spec cars, I do
not know- this came on the car after '93 when Audi ditched the internal caliper
UFO system for good. The fact that the euro-spec cars also had a 17" wheel option
might have something to do with it, because those brakes will not clear 15" wheels.
Same thing with the suspension- the '92 was the only model that had anything
close to the German suspension calibration- the cars got softer with each successive
model year, the '95 being the worst.
As for the BMW comment- the 330xi is a very impressive car- I'd take one over the
Audi, stock for stock, although the 330 is comparatively underpowered when you look
at a B5 chassis S4tt or the B6 chassis S4 V8.
3rd gen Firebird Trans-Am WS-6 will clean your clock if the driver knows what he/she
is doing. I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I am not looking for an
all-weather, snow-capable car to complement my existing Audi. In the dry, the Mustang,
Camaro, etc. will destroy the Audi. End of discussion.
