All,
My turbo is from Innovative, and affectionately known as a T3/T04E (50trim)
with #8 hotside. It is a T04E compressor with a 2.75" inlet and 2" outlet.
The compressor wheel is a 50 trim with a 2.122" inducer and 3" major (hence,
.50 trim). The CHRA (center housing and rotating assembly) is a 360-degree
thrust bearing with dynamic seal plate and water ports. The turbine is a
K26 machined for a stage 5 wheel, which results in an 8cm3 ratio. The stage
5 turbine wheel uses a 2.439" exducer and a 2.798" major (.84 turbine trim),
engineered to deliver high-rpm power. A lower ratio would yield a more
aggressive response at lower rev's, whereas the .84 ratio yields an overall
acceleration rate that is incredibly strong, but smooth and linear. Sure,
my turbo doesn't really come alive until 4200rpm, but it is strong and
linear thereafter, and does not die before 7200 (or 8000rpm, as the case may
be in a few weeks). Plus, I'm not trying to get a 4000lb pig to launch off
the line.
