Hi Tony,
Unfortunately, I have not heard much about the new 1529-140
springs from Eibach, although that part number looks to be the same as
the one I purchased back in '01. In my case, I needed the rear spacers,
as without them the car looked as if I had a couple of bodies in the
trunk. The drop for these springs is 1.3" in the front, and 1.0" in the
rear, which eliminates a bit of the wheel gap designed in to these cars,
but does so without making it looked "slammed" or like a SEMA show
reject.
I elected to couple those springs with the Bilstein SPs, and
have been happily running that combination for 3 years of very enjoyable
trouble free driving over some of the northeast's less than stellar
roadways.
If you'd like to see a few pictures of the ride height, please
feel free to visit my website http://www.93s4.com and click on the
galleries link on the left.
Sounds to me like you did the right thing by buying the spacers;
You can always return them if they're not necessary on the "new"
springs. I'm just real skeptical that they would use the same part
number and fundamentally change the amount the spring dropped...
Good Luck,
-Keith

Subject: [s-cars] "New" Eibach Springs
Hi All,
Looking for comments on the "new" Eibach 1529-140 springs that have been
re-released as made in USA. My local Eibach dealer said there was a
mistake
made somewhere along the line in Europe that caused the rear to drop
more
than the front. I suspect the new springs will do the same so I've
ordered
some spacers from ECS tuning, see
http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Audi&engine=20
v%20T&model=C4%20S6&submodel=Quattro&category=Suspension
Does anyone know if the "new " 1529-140 springs suffer form the same
problem? Do I still need the specers.
TIA
Tony
