[s-cars] question about car that sat for 8 months

Pulled my non turbo eclipse out of garage for the first time since October, ran a little rough at first, but smoothed out.  Problem is the car feels much slower than it was before, I don't know why (it's not because I have a S6 now), thinking maybe it's because the gas has been sitting for so long, the car felt more torquey before, but maybe it is just me.  Could old gas make the car's performance feel poor, perhaps it will get better as it is driven, refueled.  it had a 1/4 tank of 93 grade sitting in it for 8 months in garage.
