Thanks Jimbo-
Yes, no resistance at all. I did try locking car with key, waiting,
then unlocking. No luck. I'll try the 'auto close' method tonight and
see if that affects it.
Funny thing is (grrrr!) that this happened when I tossed the keys to Jen
for her to let herself into the car. She only turned the key once and
said "I can't open the back door". I told her why, turned it 2x, and
now I'm locked out of the trunk.
WOMEN! 8-)

When you push the button on the trunk lock cylinder, is there any
resistance
(as if it's unlocked)? Or does it push all the way in without catching?
I
had a situation on my 95 A6 Wagon where this happened. For some reason,
the
different modes of the lock cylinder became mis-aligned. I opened a few
windows and the sunroof, and then used the auto-close function (hold key
in
lock position on drivers door 'til everything closes and locks). Then,
with
the car still locked, went to the trunk, unlocked it with my key, then
the
hatch opened. Dunno if that'll do it for you, and I'm sure you've
prolly
tried everything you could think of.
HTH.

Good thing Pizzo didn't use my car for a body-dump run this weekend, as
I
cannot get my trunk to open. Unlocked car, trunk button is now suddenly
rendered inoperable. No it's not in valet mode and yes I did try using
the
glovebox solenoid button.
WTF??? Good thing it's empty, but again, WTF? I'm a bit worried as I
can't
for the life of me think of a) WTF happened and b) HOW TF I'll fix it.
Suggestions appreciated, TIA.
-Paul boring problem but a problem (of course) nonetheless K.
