I most favored the suggestion to burn incense.  Then you could say you 
bought the truck from Cheech Marin.  Alternatively, smoke a couple of 
joints inside with the windows up.  If the smell persists, perhaps you 
won't mind as much.
Serious advice is that I don't think you can eliminate it.  The 
cover-up stuff may fool you after a while because you really want it to 
work, then someone will ride in the truck and immediately make a face 
"what's that awful smell ?"  And, this will be someone you are trying 
hard to impress.
