Chris-

THANKS. Hey your advice sure beats anything related to smoke or voting
8-).

My key inserts as normal with no effort, turns counter clockwise to
valet and then to lock, no problem. Turns back to vertical (clockwise)
no problem. Also, tumbler pushes in all the way with ZERO resistance,
as if it's locked (which it is, so duh I guess).

Hmmm... when the tumbler is vertical... one would turn it CLOCKWISE to
unlock the car, right? From 12:00 toward ~ 2-3:00 area, right? Mine
does not move one iota past 12:00. Unless that's the way it's supposed
to be?

Guess I'll compare and contrast with other listers cars @ my place this
Sat night... I can try it in Jim P's old Avant if Keith lets me, or
<possibly> Keith's old sedan if Edweirdo lets me (don't ask)...

Again, appreciate the responses, looking forward to a solution...

-Paul

My trunk has gotten stuck a few times like you described.
Short story is, my tumbler (lock, etc.) in the trunk evidently got
stuck. And by stuck I don't mean part way turned, but part in part out
like you were trying to open the trunk.

I sprayed some lube on the key, inserted it in the trunk lock and
pushed it in and out of the lock several times. After doing this I
could depress the button and open my trunk.

Like I said, don't know if it will help but that's all the advice I
have to give.

Good luck
Chris
