Dan,
I have the very same problem, (I thought I was the only one, but someone else sent me a note on this matter a couple of years ago or so..) but the Bentley procedure just adjusts the window frame!
Looking at the lower hinge, the planes seem to be almost parallell, leaving me with almost no room for adjustment unlike other cars. I'm looking at a possibility to put in a stainless steel shim between the door and hinge, but I'll have to do some tests. My lower trim is quite deformed from this, so I'll probably have to get a new when I get the door to fit properly.
Please keep me posted if you find a good solution to this problem, Dan!!
Regards,
Bjorn :o)
